A.A.S.R. Ladies Auxiliary

Meet every 4th Thursday, 7:30 PM
Steubenville Masonic Temple

We officially started our organizational meetings on January 26, 2000, in the dining room of the Steubenville Masonic Temple.

We were approached by some of the members of Scottish Rite to see if we could get a group of the wives, girlfriends or significant other ladies together to help in planning bus trips or special events.

The first person to Chair our meeting was Shirley Albert, with Mary Virginia Irwin to Co-chair, Joyce Jackson as Chaplain, and Diana Benline as Secretary/Treasurer.

We began by planning various trips to “Stars on Ice” in Pittsburgh, The Carousel Theatre in Akron, various Christmas shows, and a bus trip to Newark to visit the Longaberger Basket Co.  Our Chairperson for these trips was Mary Filler.

After a brief discussion, we decided we needed to do a fund-raiser to earn money to start a treasurers account.  Our first endeavor was the coordinating and selling of cook-books.  Thanks to the help of Ruby and Karen Jones, this endeavor started us on our way to being a self-sufficient group.

Along the way, we have tried our hand at making home made candy for Easter and Christmas sales, we’ve held bake sales, sold Blue Birds, Current cards and various homemade craft items.  Having fun along the way (as well as hard work) we’ve faired well.

We have taken numerous bus trips, helped with the clean-up of our Temple's library after the new elevator was installed, and were able to contribute a generous amount at various times to help defray some of the cost of the Temple's utility bills.  We also gave monetary donations for our 32nd Degree Children's Learning Center.

Our Auxiliary is opened to all 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason's wives, significant others, and widows.  Please come and join us and bring us new ideas.  We meet the 4th Thursday of the month at 7:30PM, the same time as the men's regular stated meeting.
